for lawn mowers, garden tractors, jetskis, ultralights, hovercraft, generators,
small airboats, and a variety of small engines. Run time feature is excellent
for equipment rental agencies.
TINY-TACH can be mounted easily using two
mounting tabs or double sided tape. Electrical connections to the
engine are easy too-simply attach to the insulated section of the spark plug
wire, connect the ground wire to the engine ground. Large 4 digit LCD readout
displays rpm while engine is running and total engine run time when the engine
is off. Total hours are always displayed at engine shut down, making it
very convenient to track preventive maintenance.
Models available for two and four cycle small
engines, with either cumulative or resetable displays (resetable by special
order). The unit is water and shock resistant and has a built-in battery with a
life span of five + years.

| 2. How do you hook it up? |
|
You have two wires at the engine, the red
wire wraps 4 times around the plug wire and the white wire with a lug to
put under a bolt head for ground. |
| 3 How is the tach powered? |
|
A 3 volt lithium battery is used. |
| 4. How long does the battery last? |
|
The battery should last 5 years, it is not
replaceable, because as it is potted into the case. |
| 5. How many models are there? |
|
There are 3 main models:
- 1C-looks
for 2 pulses/rev
- 2C-looks for 1 pulse/rev
- 4C- looks for 1 pulse/2revs

| 6. Will the Tiny Tach work on
multi-cylinder engines? |
|
Yes, in most cases. Sometimes a
filter is needed to cut out electronic noise from the other
cylinders. We call this an X and it can be used on all three models. |
| 7. Do you make a
reset model for
resetting the hours? |
|
Yes, it is called an R, instead of an
NR. So if you wanted a 2C that is resetable, you would order a
2CR and if you wanted a filter it would be a 2CRX. (Special order only) |
| 8. Why does my 2C tach read double
on my two cylinder engine? |
|
It can be one of two reasons, It can
be picking up the other cylinder signal or your engine fires each plug 2
times/rev. NOTE: Some single cylinder engines do this
also. |

& Stratton engines use a 2C model

The TINY-TACH will be replaced under warranty by the
manufacturer for one year from the time of purchase by the end user. The
warranty does not cover failure due to external damage to the tach
or wires which will cause it to short. Wires must be kept away from very
hot surfaces.
